If you are a homeowner, you probably have dealt with some kind of pest problem. Pests can destroy food, spread diseases and cause general chaos. These problems make it imperative to deal with pests as quickly as possible, and this article will help you do that.

Use steel wool to fill mouse holes. Steel wool will prove nearly impossible for even a rat to chew through. All openings greater than a 1/2 inch must be stuffed. Remember that rodents can get through very tiny openings.

TIP! Is your home infested with ants? Use sugar and borax to eliminate them. Sugar attracts the ants, and the borax kills them.

If you have a brown recluse spider infestation, control it using sticky traps. Brown recluses can be very difficult to get to due to where they reside. They like to emerge at night to seek food. Good places to put these traps are behind furniture and along baseboards.

Bedbugs are very sneaky and can be hard to eliminate. Before doing any extermination, make sure you close any open holes. This will help you to be sure that the bugs won’t pop out of the holes after you try and exterminate them.

There may be standing water hiding in your home, and you need to root it out. Pests are highly attracted to standing water. Fix leaky pipes and check the water trays under any houseplants. If you eliminate water sources, you will eliminate a lot of pests.

TIP! Anytime you put brushes around your home, ensure you put them a minimum of one foot away. Insects like to live in bushes.

It is notoriously difficult to eradicate fleas and their eggs once they get into your house, but there are a few things that can work. Vacuum at least once per day and use a flea spray. Get the vacuum bag out of your home when you’re finished.

Use what you’ve learned to help rid yourself of pests. Try to rid your home of them immediately so you can save yourself the annoyance of an even bigger problem later on. Use what you have learned here, and hopefully you will be able to get rid of the pests you have.
